Cooler Fans: Keep Your Device Running Great
Computers are far more advanced now than they were ten years ago. This increase in storage capacity, internet speed, processor speed, and video card performance however has resulted in an increase in another factor. This factor is heat and keeping it managed properly is important to keeping your computer running properly.
Cooler fans are used throughout most computers and modern electronics to keep them running within safe temperatures. These fans come in various shapes, sizes, capacities, and accessories. Some come equipped with heat sinks while others are standalone units. Most coolers in computers are replaceable which is good considering that many do not last as long as the computers they are installed on.

You want to keep all the coolers in your computer running or upgrade them for increased performance. Keeping your machine cool is important and essential to proper computer operation.
Failure to use adequate Cooler fans in your machine can and will result in overheating components. Now some components can run hot by design to ensure that they don’t fail immediately when something goes wrong. However extended periods of poor cooling performance can result in long term damage and eventually the chip or part will burn up.
There are numerous brands of coolers on the market like Cooler Master, Thermaltake, and Vantec. Even though they vary in design they still perform the essential function of removing hot air from your electronics and keeping everything cool enough to operate. If you intend on upgrading or adding more coolers to your computer remember to keep your case in mind.
Some third party Cooler fans can be quite large and may not fit properly or at all inside smaller cases. It’s always a good to measure and then verify the size of the fan you want to get before purchasing. Some cooler designs are fanless meaning that they are heat sinks only. Provided there is enough airflow in a case these can function just as well as models that have fans. These heat sink models are made out of either aluminum, copper, or ceramic materials. All have their own levels of thermal conductivity so again make sure to do your research.
Shopping for a fan isn’t as hard as it might seem. There are hundreds of stores online and offline that carry them. If you’re buying a new fan for your computer processor or video card make sure to get the dimensions and the correct socket type. While some fans work for most processor types others are socket specific and won’t work for other designs. Aside from this you should also avoid buying a unit too large for your devices case.
When installing Cooler fans remember to unplug your device, lay the unit on a flat non conductive surface, and open the case. Always wear an anti-static wrist band and gently remove any wires or peripherals that may be in the way. Remember that you may need to apply a new coat of thermal grease in between your fans heat sink and the chip that it covers before finalizing the installation. Always follow any specific instructions for your unit and always take your time during installation.
